Dixon Trujillo is one of the son of Griselda Blanco who was a Colombian drug lord who was prominent in the cocaine-based drug trade and underworld of Miami, Florida, during the 1970s through the early 2000s. She has also been claimed by some to have been part of the Medellín Cartel. Blanco was assassinated in Medellín on September 3, 2012, aged 69.

Griselda Blanco’s Drug Business
Griselda Blanco Restrepo was a figure in the drug trade from Colombia to Miami, New York and California. She was known as the “Queen of Cocaine” and was one of the most powerful and ruthless drug lords of her time.
She was complicit for trafficking massive amounts of cocaine into the United States during the 1970s and 1980s, amassing a fortune estimated to be in the billions. She was arrested in 1985 and later sentenced to prison.
Through the use of fraudulent passports, she entered the United States illegally in 1964 and eventually made her home in Queens, New York with her husband and three children. She created an important cocaine operation and in April of 1975 she faced trial on federal narcotics conspiracy charges along with thirty of her colleagues.
During the late 1970s and early 1980s, drug-related violence in Miami was known as the Miami Drug War or the Cocaine Cowboy Wars, and Blanco was involved in this bloodshed. During this time, more cocaine than cannabis was transported. The United States-wide distribution network brought in $80 million a month.
