Emilio Diaz is the mom of Cameron Diaz who made her film debut at age 21 opposite Jim Carrey in the comedy The Mask (1994). She had praised supporting roles in Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky (2001) and Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York (2002).
In 2022, she retired from acting to focus on her family, but made a return to the profession. At 16, Diaz signed with Elite Model Management and appeared in Calvin Klein and Levi’s ads while still in high school. After turning 17, she appeared on Seventeen’s July 1990 cover. Diaz modelled in Australia for 2–3 months and filmed a Coca-Cola commercial in Sydney in 1991.

Emilio Diaz is a foreman of the California oil company Unocal. She has predominantly English and German ancestry.
She is married with Billie (née Early), an import/export agent who is Cuban, and Diaz’s ancestors had originally moved from Spain to Cuba. Couple together has two daughters, Chimene and Cameron Diaz. She settled in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, before moving to the Los Angeles area, where her husband was born.

At 19, Cameron Diaz was photographed and videotaped topless for an S&M leather couture lingerie editorial by professional photographer John Rutter in 1992. The photos and video were never distributed.
In 2003, before Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’s release, Rutter offered Diaz $3.5 million for the photos and film before trying to sell them. He offered her first right of refusal to them, which she perceived as blackmail and sued.
The 30-minute photo shoot film, She’s No Angel, was uploaded on a Russian website in July 2004. Rutter denied release. Rutter was imprisoned for over three years for attempted grand theft, forgery, and perjury on September 16, 2005.

Finally, after meeting the producers of the film while they were looking for the lead actress, Cameron Diaz, then 21 years old went to audition for The Mask, where she was cast as jazz singer Tina Carlyle.
