Alexis Tiara Murphy was homicide victim and went missing on August 3, 2013. She was from Nelson County, Virginia. She was last seen alive at a gas station in Virginia where she pumped gasoline. After this, 48-year-old Randy Taylor was found guilty when the evidence was recovered from a vehicle and camper belonging to him. In 2014, he was convicted of murdering.

Alexis Murphy left her home in Shipman, Virginia, to travel to Lynchburg, on August 3, 2013. When she was last seen, she was driving a white 2003 Nissan Maxima on the evening of August 3.

Her car was found on Aug 06. The police announced that they were trying to identify photographs of persons seen in close proximity to Murphy, on Aug 10.

It was just another typical day for Alexis. She got out of bed and completed her tasks. She moved out of her house in Shipman, Virginia, and asked for money to have her hair done.


The white Nissan Maxima belonging to the social media celebrity was involved in the accident. She was last seen in 2013. Her body was discovered five kilometers away, according to local news reports.

When news of Alexis’s death was announced, it was heartrending. Many people came out to support her family and punish the individual who had harmed her. She was young and intelligent, yet she wasn’t even halfway across the world when she was murdered in a heinous manner.

All About the Murder Case of Alexis Murphy

Murphy didn’t show up at a Liberty gas station in Lovingston, Virginia, where she had been seen on surveillance video the previous night, according to C-Ville Weekly. According to the publication, the teenager told her parents that she was going to Lynchburg to get hair extensions.

Her white 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE SE was recovered three days later in Charlottesville, according to the FBI. In history, her death was one of the most shocking and frightening events ever.

Taylor was identified on security footage at the gas station as he held the door open for Murphy as she arrived, so they knew him. A cashier stated that Randy Taylor and Murphy were seen conversing with each other, and that it was true at his May 2014 trial.

The police were informed about Taylor’s distinctive Daffy Duck tattoo on her neck by the store clerk, so they contacted the cops. According to Investigation, when police showed photographs of the man who was seen talking to Murphy, a local shop owner identified him as Randy Taylor who was arrested the following day.

Where Is Randy Allen Taylor Now?

The allegations against Randy Taylor for the murder of Alexis Murphy were filed on May 1, 2014. Taylor was found guilty on the charges of first-degree murder, on May 8 2014.

Taylor tried to bargain for a lesser sentence, during the sentencing. He offered to reveal the Alexis Murphy body’s whereabouts in exchange for a twenty-year sentence but his offer was declined by the court. Taylor was given two life sentences, on July 23, 2014.

Samantha Clarke, a 14-year-old girl from Virginia, was also linked to Taylor when she vanished. It was discovered on private property in Lovingston, Virginia, on December 3, 2020.

On February 5, 2021, the body parts were discovered in Richmond and taken to the Central Medical Examiner’s Office (OCME). Positive identification of Alexis Murphy was achieved at the Central District Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The identification of the remains was kept secret until February 17, 2021, when it will be released to allow Murphy’s family time to mourn and make necessary preparations.
