Bae Suzy is a South Korean girl group member Miss A who also starred in the TV drama Dream High and in the film Architecture 101. She is the youngest of three children. Her father is a professor and her mother is an art therapist. Bae Suzy has an older brother and sister.
Bae Suzy attended Seoul Performing Arts High School and majored in acting. After graduation, she signed with JYP Entertainment and made her acting debut in the television drama Dream High (2011). She played the role of Go Hye-mi, a student at Kirin Art School who comes from a wealthy family.
In 2012, Bae Suzy starred in her first film Architecture 101. She played the role of Seo In-young, a college student who falls in love with her professor (played by Lee Je-hoon). The film was a box office success, and Bae Suzy won several Best New Actress awards for her performance.
In 2013, Bae Suzy starred in the television drama Gu Family Book. She played the role of Choi Yeon-hee, a mermaid who becomes human and falls in love with a warrior (played by Lee Seung-gi). The drama was a hit, and Bae Suzy’s popularity continued to increase.
