When will Sing 2 be on Netflix in the United States?
It was officially announced at the end of last year that Netflix has purchased the distribution rights for The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which means it’s likely to go there. Our understanding is that this movie will be released on Netflix in the United States later this summer.
The most recent Illumination film to see a theatrical release was The Secret Life of Pets 2, which dropped in June 2019. On December 27th, 2019, the film became available on Netflix nearly two years after its initial release. This is important right now.
The film was then kept on Netflix for 18 months, which is the pay-1 period in full. As a result of Netflix’s ongoing involvement with the Illumination contract for the previous several years, we expect Sing 2 to arrive on Netflix.
Now, if we’re correct about the license (we have no evidence to say otherwise), we anticipate that the film will be available on Netflix July 14th, 2022. If you multiply 204 days by 7 and add six months, you get July 14th, 2022 as a date.

Will Sing 2 be on Netflix internationally?
Outside of the United States, licenses are obtained on a country-by-country basis. The rollout of Netflix in the UK, for example, takes about two years after theatrical release. That meant the film was uploaded to Netflix in May 2021 for The Secret Life of Pets 2.
If you can’t wait until Netflix or Peacock has it, your best bet is to buy it on video-on-demand services like Amazon Prime Video. That means the film will most likely be available in the UK by late 2023. Based on current availability of The Secret Life of Pets 2, Netflix in Latin America and Canada will most likely receive the film in a few years.
All future Illumination films will be available on Netflix, which is a good thing since the studio has now been acquired by Universal Pictures. As previously stated, all movies from 2022 and beyond will be coming to Netflix as well.
