Ari Jennings: 5 Facts about the reality star

Ari Jennings is an American reality star and best known as the eldest sibling of LGBT rights activist and YouTube star Jazz Jennings who would be featured on the TLC reality series ‘I Am Jazz’ alongside her family.

Her sister, Jazz Jennings is one of the youngest publicly documented people to be identified as transgender. Jennings received national attention in 2007 when an interview with Barbara Walters aired on 20/20.

Who is Ari Jennings?

Ari Jennings was born in Florida to parents Greg and Jeanette. She has a younger sister, Jazz Jennings, and older twin brothers Sander and Griffen. The family is Jewish. Regarding the last name, she explained that

“Jennings is our pseudonym, to sort of make life easier. We try to hide our real last name as much as possible…Our last name is a very Jewish, long last name.”

She was assigned male at birth and was diagnosed with gender dysphoria by age four, making her one of the youngest publicly documented people to be identified as transgender.

She made it clear as soon as she could speak that she was female, and, although the family presented her publicly in gender-neutral clothing, she wanted to be presented in feminine clothing.

As a child, Ari Jennings went to Camp Aranu’tiq, the first sleepaway camp for transgender children. She graduated honours from Broward Virtual School in 2019. She delayed Harvard admission for a year.

Ari Jennings was the second highest achieving student in her high school, and she decided to go to the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies.

After that, she continued her education by pursuing a PhD at the University of Arkansas. On her Instagram account, she shares pictures of the places she has visited and the fun moments she has had with her friends.
