Bruce Somers Jr. is the step-son of Alan Hamel who co-hosted the Canadian children’s television series Razzle Dazzle (1961–64). The show featured a talking turtle, Howard.

His mother, Somers married Bruce Somers in 1965, and in the same year couple’s son Bruce Somers Jr. was born. In 1968, that marriage ended. Somers became a prize model on Anniversary Game (1969–70), where she met host Alan Hamel. They married in 1977.
Bruce Somers Jr.’s Mother Death
Bruce Somers Jr.’s mother, Suzanne Somers was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer, in April 2022. Her battle with cancer was marked by incredible strength. Even after the setbacks, she remained positive and fought the disease with tenacity.
She had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer followed by radiation therapy. Her legacy as a talented actress, activist and inspiration to many will continue to live on reminding us of the importance of courage and perseverance in the face of adversity. The day before she turned 77, on October 15, 2023, Somers passed away quietly at home in Palm Springs, California, due to a recurrence of cancer.
