They tied knot on April 7, 1979, during a late season 3 hiatus of the series. She switched her screen name to her married name, Connie Needham, from season 4 onwards. Connie and David divorced in 2005. They have two daughters, Kimberly and Taylor.
The news of Needham’s ovarian cancer diagnosis broke in July 2009. Since then, she has fully recovered. Her way to recovery was not an easy one. She underwent several rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery to remove the cancerous cells.
