What Is the Death of RJ Mitte Meme?
The Death of RJ Mitte meme is a collection of online reactions connected to the reported death of the Breaking Bad actor. Rather than referring to one specific image or joke, the name covers social media posts that discuss his passing, share tributes, and refer to his character in the series.
Since Breaking Bad remains a major part of internet meme culture, many users connected the news to Walter White Jr. and familiar moments from the show. Some posts focused on the sadness of losing the actor, while others referenced older Walt Jr. memes that fans already knew.
The trend shows how internet communities often respond to the death of a well-known entertainer. News spreads quickly, and people use shared memories, screenshots, and familiar jokes to express emotions that may be difficult to put into words.
Origin and Background
The meme’s documented history began on October 12, 2026, when news of RJ Mitte’s death spread online. TMZ shared a report about Mitte’s death on X, formerly Twitter, on October 12. The post received widespread attention. The PopBase account also shared the report, and its post drew further discussion. Fans then began sharing personal tributes and connecting the news to Mitte’s work on Breaking Bad.
One widely recirculated post came from Mitte’s own X account. On October 9, 2026, he had asked fans where they thought Walt Jr. would be in the Breaking Bad universe. Following the news of his death, people returned to that post and shared it again.

Who Was RJ Mitte?
RJ Mitte, born Roy Frank Mitte III on August 21, 1992, was an American actor and disability rights advocate. He became widely known for playing Walter White Jr., the son of Walter White, in Breaking Bad, which aired from 2008 to 2013.
Mitte lived with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects movement and muscle control. His experience helped him bring authenticity to his role, as his character also had cerebral palsy. His work challenged common stereotypes about disability and helped bring greater visibility to disabled performers.
Beyond Breaking Bad, Mitte appeared in projects including Hannah Montana, Switched at Birth, and The Guardians of Justice. He also supported disability awareness and inclusion through his advocacy work. He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s and was involved with the Mitte Foundation.
Why Did the News Lead to So Many Memes?
Breaking Bad has remained popular long after its final episode aired in 2013. Its characters, dramatic scenes, and memorable dialogue continue to appear in online jokes and edits. Because Mitte played a familiar character throughout the series, news of his death quickly became part of that online culture.
Another reason was the connection fans felt with Walter White Jr. The character was often seen as a moral centre of the story, especially as his father’s criminal life grew more dangerous. Fans also created jokes about his love of breakfast, giving the character a life of his own beyond the show’s main plot.
When a familiar actor dies, people often return to the scenes that made them memorable. In this case, Breaking Bad references gave fans a shared way to remember Mitte and discuss his impact on the series. Not every post was intended as a joke; many were tributes or expressions of disbelief.
Connection to the Walt Jr. Loves Breakfast Meme
The Walt Jr. Loves Breakfast meme is one of the older memes associated with Mitte’s character. It jokes about how often Walter White Jr. eats breakfast or talks about food in Breaking Bad, even though the show’s central story focuses on his father’s drug business.
Following news of Mitte’s death, references to this older meme appeared in the wider discussion. Fans used familiar character jokes and scenes to remember him. The connection is important because it explains why some posts about his death looked like ordinary Breaking Bad memes, even when they were part of a more serious conversation.
The breakfast meme is a separate internet trend with its own history. It should not be treated as the original source of the Death of RJ Mitte meme.
