Elisabeth Fritzl, her six surviving children (Lisa, Monika, Alexander, Kerstin, Stefan), and her mother Rosemarie were treated at a local clinic after the Fritzl case came to light.
The children held captive in the cellar needed additional therapy to help them acclimate to the light and space of the outside world. Where are Elisabeth Fritzl’s children now?
What happened to Elisabeth Fritzl’s children?
Elisabeth Fritzl gave birth to seven children while imprisoned in her father’s basement in Anstetten, Austria. Kerstin, the eldest, was born 30 August 1988. Stefan (1 February 1990), Lisa (29 August 1992) and Monika (26 February 1994) were the next three children.
On April 28, 1996, Elisabeth gave birth to Alexander and Michael. After less than three days, he passed away. On December 16th, 2002, she delivered Felix to the world. Elisabeth’s father, Josef Fritzl, fathered all seven children.
Until 2008, Kerstin, Stefan, and Felix had spent their entire lives in the cellar. Josef arranged for Lisa, Monika, and Alexander to be “found” as foundlings outside the home. He and his wife Rosemarie (Elisabeth’s mother) raised them themselves while the other siblings and Elisabeth lived in the basement unknown to her.

Where are they now?
Austrian authorities offered Elisabeth and her six children new identities. None of them, therefore, now uses his or her birth names. In various ways, the kids have acclimated to their new circumstances at various ages ranging from 8 to 32.
For example, one of the caregivers who assisted in developing Monster recalls there was “conflict between the cellar children and their grandparents”s family living on the first floor at one time (quoted in The Sun).
“The day the upstairs children started calling Elisabeth ‘Mama’ was the day she knew she had won their hearts.”
As a result of their identity changes, little information is available about the fates of many of the children, now adults.
Kerstin, Stefan and Felix
Until 2008, Kerstin, Stefan, and Felix lived underground. He is 32 years old, according to reports. Her brother Stefan (31) aspired to be a ship’s captain and see the world with his own eyes.
Felix went to school among classmates who had no idea about his origin. Elisabeth was in a relationship with her bodyguard, Thomas Wagner, according to The Sun. Wagner moved in with Elisabeth and her children after they began dating, according to the news source.
Lisa, Monika and Alexander
According to reports, Monika was supposedly preparing to go to university in 2013, while Lisa was finishing her school finals. Alexander wanted to become a mechanical engineering apprentice.
Because they have distinct names now, and presumably seek to preserve a bubble of privacy around them, very little new information is available regarding Elisabeth Fritzl’s children.
