Isabela Merced is an American actress and singer, best known for her roles as CJ Martin on the Nickelodeon television series 100 Things to Do Before High School (2014–16) and as Kate in Nickelodeon’s animated spinoff series Dora and Friends: Into the City! (2014–19).

Merced was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Patrick Moner, her father, was born in Louisiana and Lima, Peru’s Katherine. Merced has stated that she speaks Spanish as her native language, and that English was difficult for her when she started first grade school.
She considers herself more Peruvian than American because she struggled with English at the beginning of grade school. She enrolled at age 15 after being accepted into college.

Isabela Merced Career
After her family’s Cleveland home was destroyed by a fire, Merced began acting. Merced’s parents asked her if she wanted to audition for a local production of The Wizard of Oz to distract her from the tragedy.
She agreed and was cast as a Munchkin. The theatre director in her hometown urged the family to move to New York City so she could pursue a career on Broadway, which they did.
On October 14, 2019, Merced announced to her followers on Instagram that she had chosen to change her stage name to Isabela Merced in honour of her deceased grandmother whom she never met.

Merced added that the name was not legally changed and said that it was “simply a stage name but there’s a deeper meaning behind it.”
