Following a Wednesday house seizure by Russian security services, Marina Ovsyannikova, a former editor of the state-run Channel One network who openly criticized Moscow’s aggression against Ukraine on live television, is now being charged with criminal offenses.

According to Dmitry Zakhvatov, a human rights activist with the OVD-Info organization who is assisting Ovsyannikova, Russian security agents broke down Ovsyannikova’s door without waiting for her lawyer.

According to Zakhvatov, Ovsyannikova is being brought before the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, which is comparable to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States.
