Given the numerous legal issues, it’s doubtful that Netflix would like to book another season of Black Mirror. However, we will see more from Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker, including a rumored USS Callister spin-off.
Given the complicated legal issues that prompted Netflix to cancel Black Mirror, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see any more of the show on the platform. However, we will see more from Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker, including a rumored USS Callister spin-off.

Has Black Mirror been renewed for season 6?
Official renewal status: Not yet renewed
The future of the series is uncertain due to a dispute with the IP owner. To add to that, Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker have both left Endemol Shine Group to start their own new firm (with Netflix’s financial backing and an overall output deal with Netflix).
In January 2020, it was reported that Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones had left Endemol Shine Group, the show’s production company and ultimate rights holders.
Netflix and Brooker teamed up in July 2020 to form a “landmark agreement” where the new firm, called Broke and Bones, was purchased by Netflix. So the good news is that Jones and Brooker will continue to work with Netflix in the future; but Black Mirror appears to be on ice again due to failed negotiations or unwillingness on either side to give way to the other’s demands. It’s also worth noting that Banijay Group has completed its acquisition of Endemol Shine Group in July 2020.
After the fifth season of Black Mirror was released on Netflix, the creators were excited about the show’s future. When Yahoo asked Charlie Brooker if “maybe we should cast someone like Barack Obama, he would make a fantastic villain,” he responded, “Yes.” The show’s future seems to be tied to the creator’s ability to create new stories. Brooker said the following: “I imagine if we run out of ideas, we will stop.”
When is Space Force 2 coming: Release date, plot, cast, crew and news
In 2021, we learnt that Black Mirror may be revived or at the very least one of the episodes would be. We’ve seen production dates (as have other outlets) for a Netflix sequel to USS Callister , which aired in episode 1 of season 4.
Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones created Death to 2020 for Netflix, which debuted in late December 2020. In 2021, they published a second edition (with Brooker taking a more minor role), entitled Death to 2021. Jones and Brooker both acted as executive producers on the quickly forgotten TV documentary Attack of the Hollywood Cliches! , which premiered in 2021.
Will there be another interactive Black Mirror episode?
The two creators of The Magicians aired their thoughts on future interactive episodes during a Yahoo interview.
They specifically said that “The thing is, if you’re doing an interactive episode, it needs to justify itself. There needs to be a compelling narrative reason as to why you’re using that otherwise, it is just a gimmick.”
Brooker did say that he wants to keep the two happy in their new home when asked if there are any plans for a sequel to one of the most loved episodes, San Junipero. However, it was claimed back in October 2016 that there had been discussions about sequels to White Bear and Be Right Back, which are two of the earlier episodes. Broke and Bones has also added Russell McLean to its team, who will focus on developing interactive projects going forward, as part of the new agreement mentioned above.
