Max Helm (born January 8, 1997) grew up in a loving and supportive family who was born to Thomas Helm and Melissa Helm. Before to the rape event, he was enrolled at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Once he was found guilty of raping the victim, the school management suspended him from the school.

On August 24, 2021, the incident took place. The news of the alleged rape quickly spread throughout the university campus, sparking outrage and demanding justice for the victim. The victim was found on the ground bleeding. The incident is said to have happened at a party hosted on UNL property by the Fiji Fraternity.
He was charged with assaulting the girl, physically abusing her. Luckily, she survived. She was seen and taken to the hospital by someone. The incident was widely reported the day after it happened. Students at the school organized rallies in response to the event. The incident also brought into question the university’s policies on sexual assault prevention and support for survivors.
Social media users felt outraged by the incident and called for him to face charges. It’s said that he has committed rape before. Even though he performed the same thing in 2017, the law did not charge him.

Even after many appealed for the victim’s justice, he was not arrested. After the incident, he disappeared and moved to Mexico in order to avoid having to deal with the consequences for his actions.
