Shireen has written for stage and screen, with her plays Why is the Sky Blue? and You Don’t Need a Big Song and Dance About It both receiving Off West End Award bids. Shireen also wrote You Don’t Need a Huge Song and Dance About It for the National Theatre’s Connections Festival 2021. She was a playwright-in-residence at the Royal Court Theatre in London. Shireen previously worked as an artist at Ovalhouse in South Korea and Nottle Theater in Canada. She was a resident playwright at the Royal Court Theatre.

Shireen is an associate artist with fanSHEN Theatre Company, having worked on numerous projects in the past year, most recently the Lists for The End of the World at Summerhall 2017. Shireen also teaches on the MA and BA Drama and Performance programs at London South Bank University.
