Black Mirror Season 6 confirmation status: Is Netflix going to release Season 6?
Despite the fact that Netflix has not ordered any new episodes of Black Mirror, it hasn’t canceled the program either. The problem with a new season is that it requires additional rights.
The creators of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker and Annabell Jones, announced in January 2020 that they had departed Endemol Shine Productions, the show’s production company. Since then, Brooker and Jones have established Broke and Bones as a new production company with Netflix for additional projects.
BBC Studios and Endemol are locked in a legal battle, as the BBC tried to get out of its contract with the production company. Brooker and Jones have no control over their creation because it is still controlled by Endemol. However, since Endemol still owns the rights to Black Mirror, Brooker and Jones cannot make any more episodes. According to the Radio Times, Brooker believes that after the COVID-19 pandemic, people would not want to see Black Mirror Season 6.
When Is Black Mirror Season 6 Coming Out: Release Date
Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date for the as-yet-untitled Black Mirror Season 6, and there are no indications of production for new episodes, so it’s unlikely that another season will be released this year.
Black Mirror Season 6 may not arrive until 2023, but since the COVID-19 epidemic has gotten less severe as a result of vaccines, more and more movies and TV shows have kept production.
However, if Netflix and Banijay do sign an agreement next year, Black Mirror Season 6 should be released in 2022. However, with no news about the show’s return yet, new episodes are unlikely to be published in 2022.
