Early Life Of Billy Kametz
Kametz was born on March 22, 1987, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania. In 2016, Kametz relocated to Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles to take on the role of Aladdin in Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular’s final performance.
In 2020, Kametz began his professional career as a voice actor in California, where he played major roles. At the 4th Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2020, Kametz won the Best VA Performance (EN) for his performance as Naofumi Iwatani in The Rising of the Shield Hero. He also started dating fellow voice actress Erica Lindbeck at this time.
On April 26, 2022, Kametz stated that he would be taking a break from voice acting and returning to Hershey, Pennsylvania, after revealing he had been diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. On May 1, 2022, a GoFundMe campaign was established to cover travel expenses; insurance premiums; medical expenditures not covered by insurance; and other day-to-day necessities. Kametz died at the age of 35 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on June 9, 2022.

Billy Kametz’s Death Cause
Best known for his work as a voice actor, Kyle Robert Kametz died on Thursday, June 9 after fighting colon cancer. He was 35 years old. His death was announced on his GoFundMe page, which was established after he revealed his diagnosis in April. The page’s creator, A. Jinnie McManus, informed donors of the sad news in an update on the site, as well as an obituary for the actor, and extended them kind condolences.
“Anyone who has met Billy Kametz will tell you he is one of the warmest, kindest, most-sincere human beings on this earth,” the page said. “Quick to laugh with his infectious smile, he brings joy to everyone around him — whether that is a room full of friends and family, gracious fans at conventions, or, most recently, the nurses and doctors who attended to him in the hospital.”
“Most importantly, I hope you know how appreciated you all were and how much strength you provided. Billy and I would regularly share thoughts of disbelief and joy at the outpouring of generosity you all gave him,” the GoFundMe update read.
“Know that he left this world peacefully, knowing how loved he is and always will be. I miss my friend terribly. But it comforts me that his legacy will continue with his work and all of the fans who are even now discovering what an extraordinary man he was.”
