Wilson, born on January 10, 1939, in Glasgow, Scotland, was a Scottish international footballer who played as an outside left and was best known for his decade at Rangers in the early 1960s. Wilson, a native of the mining community of Newton just outside Glasgow, grew up as a Rangers supporter.
