Red Queen Season 2 also known as Reina Roja: Loba Negra, takes Antonia Scott and Jon Gutiérrez into a much darker case involving the Russian mafia, a mysterious killer called Loba Negra, a disturbing human-trafficking operation, and the return of Mr. White.
The second season is based on Loba Negra (The Black Wolf), the second novel in Juan Gómez-Jurado’s Antonia Scott trilogy. The book was published as the follow-up to Reina Roja, and the television adaptation continues the story of Antonia, the brilliant investigator known as the Red Queen, and Jon, her trusted partner.
Season 2 looks like one large mystery at first, but the finale makes an important distinction: not every murder is part of the same plan. Several characters have their own reasons for killing, while the murders of the Red Queens are tied to the much bigger game involving Mr. White.
What Is Red Queen Season 2 About?
The story begins after the events of the first season. Antonia Scott is still dealing with the consequences of her previous case and the shadow of Mr. White, while Jon Gutiérrez remains at her side.
The new investigation begins when Lola Moreno survives an attempt on her life. Lola is connected to Yuri, the treasurer of Russian crime boss Aslan Orlov. Antonia and Jon are sent to find Lola and protect her before Orlov’s people can reach her.
What appears to be a mafia investigation soon becomes much more complicated. Yuri’s secret dealings, Lola’s disappearance, a series of murders and the appearance of Loba Negra all become connected.
The discovery of a shipping container containing nine dead girls and one survivor also reveals the horrifying criminal operation surrounding Yuri and Orlov.
Why Is Everyone Looking for Lola?
Lola becomes one of the most important people in the investigation because she knows more than she initially lets on. Orlov believes information connected to Yuri’s missing money may have ended up with her.
There is another reason Lola is desperate to recover her dog. What initially seems like a simple emotional attachment becomes important when Antonia discovers that the animal is carrying something valuable.
The dog has an implanted device containing cryptocurrency and files that could expose Orlov’s criminal activities. This explains why so many people are interested in finding Lola and why her escape is much more important than it first appears.
What Happened to the Girls in the Container?
One of the darkest discoveries of the season comes when Antonia and Jon find a shipping container containing nine dead girls and one survivor.
The discovery exposes another side of Yuri’s criminal activities and points toward human trafficking and exploitation. The surviving girl could potentially have become an important witness, but her story is ultimately separate from the mystery of the Red Queens.
This is an important detail when understanding the finale. The murders connected to the container are not the same as the Red Queen murders.
Orlov’s criminal organization is connected to the container operation, while the murders of the Red Queens across Europe lead back to Mr. White.

Who Is Loba Negra?
Loba Negra is the mysterious assassin who begins eliminating members of Orlov’s organization. She is extremely dangerous, but she does not behave like a normal mafia killer.
Her motives are separate from Orlov’s organization, which makes it difficult for Antonia and Jon to understand exactly what she wants.
The finale adds another twist. The woman known as Loba Negra is not actually the original Loba Negra. The real Loba Negra has already been killed, and another woman has taken her identity.
This revelation explains why the assassin’s behavior does not always match what Antonia expects from the legendary killer.
Who Killed Yuri?
Romero kills Yuri.
Romero is one of the police officers involved in the investigation, but she and Belgrano have their own corruption problem. Yuri has information that could expose them, making him a dangerous liability.
Romero therefore kills Yuri to protect herself and prevent the information from becoming public.
This matters because Yuri’s death is not ordered by Mr. White. Season 2 contains several separate murder plots, and Yuri’s murder is one of them.
Who Killed the Red Queens?
The answer is Mr. White.
The murders of the Red Queens across Europe are part of the larger game being controlled by Mr. White. He is not simply another killer operating inside the Russian mafia story. His role is much larger.
Mr. White’s strength comes from manipulation. He can use other people to create violence and confusion while keeping himself away from the immediate crime.
That is why the finale can reveal several different killers without contradicting the answer to the main question. Romero kills Yuri. Orlov’s organization is responsible for crimes connected to the container. Loba Negra kills members of the Russian mafia. But the Red Queen murders belong to the larger plan connected to Mr. White.

What Happens in the Red Queen Season 2 Finale?
The final episode brings Antonia, Jon and Lola to a cabin in the forest. By this point, Antonia understands why Lola was so determined to recover her dog and why the device hidden with it is so important.
Orlov’s men attack the cabin, creating a final confrontation between the different sides of the investigation. Loba Negra also arrives and kills several of the attackers.
Eventually, Loba Negra agrees to leave Lola alive in exchange for the device. She takes what she wants and leaves, while Antonia and Jon remain with Lola.
Aslan Orlov’s story also comes to an end. He is killed during the confrontation after his own dog attacks him, although the animal is also shot.
For a moment, it appears that Antonia and Jon have finally survived the case.
But the real danger is still waiting.
What Happens to Antonia?
After the cabin confrontation, Antonia makes a painful personal decision involving her husband and chooses to disconnect him from life support.
She then checks on the surviving girl from the container. Instead of finding a witness who can help her, Antonia learns that the girl has died.
Soon afterward, Antonia receives a message from Mr. White.
The message is a reminder that the events of the season are not simply a collection of unrelated crimes. Mr. White is still watching and manipulating events from the shadows.
Does Jon Die in the Ending?
No, Jon does not die. However, he is kidnapped.
After the main case appears to be over, Jon meets his boyfriend, Tomás. When Jon leaves, a woman disguised as Little Red Riding Hood approaches him from a van.
She injects Jon in the neck, causing him to collapse. He is then taken away inside the van.
The biggest shock is the identity of the woman behind the kidnapping.
It is Sandra.
Sandra was believed to be gone after the events of the first season, so her appearance completely changes the meaning of the finale.
Jon’s kidnapping also gives Mr. White another way to hurt Antonia. Jon is not simply her partner in the investigation; he is one of the few people she genuinely trusts.

Is Mr. White Behind Every Murder?
No. This is probably the easiest part of the finale to misunderstand.
Mr. White is behind the larger Red Queen conspiracy, but the show does not say that he personally committed every murder in Season 2.
Different characters have different motives:
- Romero kills Yuri to protect herself and her corruption.
- Orlov’s organization is connected to the criminal operation involving the container.
- Loba Negra kills members of the Russian mafia for her own reasons.
- Mr. White is connected to the murders of the Red Queens and the larger game surrounding Antonia.
Once these separate storylines are understood, the ending becomes much easier to follow.
What Does the Red Queen Season 2 Ending Mean?
The ending is really about control and manipulation.
Antonia spends much of the season trying to identify individual killers. But Mr. White operates differently. He does not need to be physically present every time something terrible happens. Instead, he creates situations where other people become part of his plan.
That makes him a much more dangerous enemy for Antonia.
The return of Sandra is also important because it shows that the events of Season 1 were not truly finished. Antonia may have solved the immediate case, but the person controlling the larger game is still out there.
What Does Jon’s Kidnapping Mean for Season 3?
Jon’s kidnapping is the clearest bridge into the next chapter of the story.
The television series is following Juan Gómez-Jurado’s trilogy, with Reina Roja followed by Loba Negra and then Rey Blanco. The third book is the final part of the Antonia Scott trilogy.
The ending of Season 2 closely points toward the conflict that defines Rey Blanco: Jon’s life is put at risk while Antonia is forced to play Mr. White’s game.
That means the next chapter is unlikely to be another completely separate investigation. The unfinished conflict between Antonia and Mr. White is now the heart of the story.
